MT. JULIET, Tenn. -

Charges will not be filed against a man who police, at one time, thought may have tried to lure an eight-year-old girl into his vehicle.

Investigators said the man contacted police after seeing various media reports about the incident Sunday afternoon in the 200 block of Ridgeview Preserve Drive.

According to the original release from Mt. Juliet police, the girl's mother witnessed the man as he talked to her daughter and yelled for her to get away from him.

Tuesday, polices aid the man thought he could possibly be the person-of-interest police were looking for and contacted investigators.

The investigation revealed that the child fell off of a bike near the man, and he checked on her well-being.

According to police, the way the man acted during the contact could have been easily misinterpreted, and he could have used better judgment.

However, investigators are confident that the subject did not have malicious intentions.

No charges will be filed.
