Man robs Sonic after shooting through door

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An armed man robbed a Sonic in south Nashville late Sunday night.

According to police, the man shot through the door to gain entry into the restaurant located at 2780 Murfreesboro Road, near Bell Road, around 10:45 p.m.

Two employees in the process of closing the restaurant were inside at the time of the robbery.

The gunman got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male around five feet, 10 inches tall, weighing around 150 to 155 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask to cover his face, one blue latex glove, one white latex glove, a black hooded sweatshirt with black sweat pants and black shoes.

He is armed with a small, black semi-automatic handgun.

Further details were not immediately released.

In October, the same Sonic was robbed after a gunman shot through the door. There is no word on if the incidents are related.
