NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A police chase beginning in Wilson County ended in Nashville Friday afternoon with an injury crash.

The accident involving wanted robbery suspect Shawn Sullivan ended around 2:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Donelson Pike near Elm Hill Pike.

Police began pursuing Sullivan in a stolen car following an armed robbery on South Cumberland Street in Lebanon.

Authorities said as Sullivan approached the I-40 Donelson Pike exit, he realized he was being followed by a deputy and began driving aggressively.

Sullivan exited the interstate and was headed northbound on Donelson Pike when he slammed into a Toyota Prius.

Two people, including a nine-year-old girl, inside the Prius were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Immediately following the crash, Sullivan bailed from the stolen vehicle and ran to a car turning into a fast food restaurant.

Sullivan attempted to get inside the man's vehicle, but was unable to.

He was taken into custody shortly after the crash. He was found hiding underneath a parked SUV at a nearby Walgreens.

A portion of Donelson Pike was closed near the Royal Parkway intersection as police cleared the scene.

Wilson County Sheriff's deputies and Metro police assisted in the pursuit.

Sullivan has since been transported back to Wilson County where he is charged with robbery.

Additional charges in Metro are expected.

At the time of his arrest, Sullivan was also wanted in west Tennessee for armed robbery, assault and theft.
