The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the man whose body was found early Christmas morning on Interstate 40 in Roane County.
They are investigating the death of Brian William Taylor, 42, and reported every possible scenario is being considered, including foul play.
Taylor's body was found around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 364 in east Tennessee.
A preliminary investigation revealed he had either jumped or fallen from a moving vehicle, and was then struck by at least one other vehicle.
Taylor is described as a while male who was wearing blue jeans, a blue and white checked flannel shirt, and tan work boots. He is from Heath Springs, South Carolina.
Authorities are now asking those who have any knowledge of Taylor, or any information that may assist in the investigation, to contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol headquarters in Knoxville at 865-594-5800.
