SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Local Media Consortium today announced the addition of five new media companies to its growing membership ranks, including the publishers of The Boston Globe, Boston Herald, the Star Tribune in Minneapolis-St. Paul, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock and The Frederick News-Post in Maryland.

The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe and The Frederick News-Post were part of the original partnership when it was founded in 2006 as The Newspaper Consortium. The Star Tribune Media Company and WEHCO MEDIA are first-time members.
