NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday night in Nashville, and heavy rain may be to blame.

According to police, Leon Fyke, 59, was crossing the street in the 4000 block of Andrew Jackson Parkway just after 9:30 p.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck told police he did not see the pedestrian due to the heavy rain.

Fyke was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No charges were filed.
