Seats already sold for new Sounds ballpark at Sulphur Dell

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A new stadium for the Nashville Sounds has not even been built yet, but seats are already being sold.

Team officials said even with just preliminary plans for the new ballpark at Sulphur Dell in place, the Sounds have already received a huge response from fans wanting to go ahead and purchase tickets.

"We're offering a holiday offer that we've rolled out the last few days where you can put a $150 deposit down and it gets you into a priority system and picking out your seats when that time comes," Brad Tammen with the Nashville Sounds said.

The team is working with architects on the final design of the planned park.

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean announced plans for the multi-million dollar project at Sulphur Dell in late August.

The project would include a ballpark, residential developments and a parking garage and is expected to be complete by 2015.

Additional details regarding the new stadium are expected to be released early next year.
