Volunteers sign three Juco stars


The rebuilding of Tennessee football took its next step Wednesday with the signing of three Junior College football stars.

The Vols signed offensive lineman Dontavius Blair, wide receiver Von Pearson and defensive lineman Owen Williams.

Blair is 6-8, 300 pounds and comes to UT from Garden City Community College in Kansas. He was rated a four-star recruit with his massive size and he comes to Tennessee with plenty of game experience. Blair started all 17 of his Juco games.

Pearson was also a four-star recruit and the second rated Juco wide receiver in the country. He comes to U-T from Feather River College in Quincy, California where he led the nation with 93 receptions, 1,601 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Williams played two years at Butler Community College in Kansas and was rated a three-star recruit. He led his conference with seven sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss last season.
