Police investigate Hermitage apartment break-in

Metro police are looking for two suspects following a break-in at an apartment complex in Hermitage early Wednesday morning.

Police received the call around 2 a.m. from the Oakwell Farms Apartments off Old Hickory Boulevard and Interstate 40.

Investigators told Nashville's News 2 the victim woke up to a man on his second floor balcony after hearing a strange noise.

When the suspect saw the victim, he jumped 13 feet to the ground below with the man's laptop.

Police say he got into his apartment from an unlocked door after climbing up to the balcony.
Since the balcony is 13 feet above the ground, police believe another person assisted the suspect who was inside the home.

Authorities said they've had several car break-ins and burglaries in the area, and they do believe the crimes are connected.

A description of the suspects wasn't immediately released.
