Grocery stores step closer to selling beer on Sunday mornings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Grocery stores are one step closer to selling beer on Sunday mornings.

On Tuesday night the Metro Council passed a first reading that would allow stores to sell beer beginning at 10 a.m.

Under current law, stores are prohibited from selling beer between 3 a.m. and Noon.

Restaurants and venues such as LP Field are already allowed to sell alcohol at 10 a.m.

Two additional readings are required before the proposal can pass.
