High speed chase ends with manhunt in east Nashville

Posted: Updated:

A suspect led authorities on an 11-mile chase by car from Sumner County into Davidson County early Tuesday morning, and now he's on the loose.

Goodlettsville police initially received a call around 4 a.m. about a man identified as Deangelo Foxx in a red car threatening someone with a gun at the America's Best Value Inn on Rivergate Parkway.

Once police arrived, they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the red Dodge Challenger.

The 29-year-old suspect refused to stop, leading four Goodlettsville police cruisers on a nearly 100 mile-per-hour chase down Interstate 65 into east Nashville.

During the chase, Foxx fired at least one shot out of the back of his car, shattering the window.

There were no reports of injuries from the gunfire.

Foxx eventually crashed in the 2500 block of Carter Avenue around 4:15 a.m. and fled on foot before officers arrived.

Metro police assisted Goodlettsville officers in a search throughout the area.

Officials told News 2 the registered owner of the vehicle is currently incarcerated.  The owner informed police of Foxx's identity.

Foxx is described as a black male with dreadlocks wearing a red jacket.

He is considered armed and dangerous.  Residents are urged to be on the lookout and call 911 or Goodlettsville police at 615-859-3405 if they see anyone matching his description.
