Sources: Reports of Ray Price's death false

MT. PLEASANT, Texas -

Reports about country music legend Ray Price's passing are false.

On Sunday afternoon, The Tennessean and several other media outlets reported that Price died at age 87 at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

However, since that time, The Tennessean said those reports were an error.  Sources confirmed that Price remains in hospice care at his Texas home.

Price's son, Cliff Price, had written of his passing on Ray Price's Facebook page, but was not with him at the time of the post.

Price's wife, Janie Price, has been at his side and confirmed that he is still alive.

The 87-year-old left a Texas hospital Thursday to begin hospice treatment at home.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011.
