MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Occupants of a Murfreesboro apartment are displaced after a fire broke out early Saturday morning.

The fire was reported at the Redwood Park Apartments located on South Rutherford Boulevard just before 6 a.m.

Upon their arrival, crews reported heavy smoke coming a back bedroom at unit C-3.

The fire was contained to the one room.

"The door to that bedroom was shut," said Shift Commander Daryl Alexander. "That helped keep it from spreading to other areas of the unit."

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
