Toddler rushed to hospital after assault

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A toddler was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon following an incident in north Nashville.

Metro police were called to the SunTrust Bank located on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard at Scovel Street around 3 p.m.

The 18-month-old child was involved in some sort of assault outside of the bank and transported to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the child's injuries were not immediately known.

Two people were detained by police at the scene.

Youth services were called to question both people in custody.

Further details were not immediately released.
