Two people are in custody in connection to a burglary and sexual assault at an Ashland City home over the weekend.
Kerry Covington, 20, was arrested on Thursday. Antonio Nelson, 25, was arrested on drug charges in Nashville on Wednesday.
News 2 was the only camera on the scene when Covington arrived to the Ashland City Police Department around 7 p.m. for interrogation.
Covington and Nelson are accused of sexually assaulting a woman when she drove to a neighbor's home on Eisenhower Drive in the Caldwell Estates subdivision to borrow an onion on Sunday.
The homeowners were not home at the time, but told the 25-year-old woman to use their electronic keypad to enter the residence.
Upon entering the home, the woman was attacked, tied up with a phone cord and sexually assaulted.
She was able to escape and get help from another neighbor.
The men fled the scene in the woman's SUV. The pair also got away with two televisions, a shotgun and an Xbox.
"This is something that doesn't happen in Ashland City very often, thank the Lord, and hopefully it doesn't ever happen again. That was a very heinous crime and we were determined to do something about it," Police Chief Marc Coulon said.
Nelson remains jailed in Metro on the unrelated drug charge. It's unknown when he will be extradited to Cheatham County.
Both men face charges of theft of property, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape, among others.
