GALLATIN, Tenn. -

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Gallatin woman on Thursday for allegedly stealing funds from a church daycare.

Donna Gregory is accused of stealing approximately $35,000 between 2011 and 2013 from the Gallatin Church of Christ Daycare.

According to authorities in the spring of 2011 Gregory went through a personal financial hardship and began taking cash received from parents before generating a computerized receipt.

Gregory would then identify the payment in the accounting system as previously deposited which prevented anyone from noticing the missing funds.

Fifty-three-year-old Gregory worked at the daycare for 14 years.

She was booked into the Sumner County jail on a $5,000 bond.
