Eagleville girl inspired to give gifts to others

An 11-year-old Eagleville girl inspired by missionaries at her church decided to use her birthday wish to help provide gifts to others this holiday season.

Instead of asking for gifts for herself on her December 6 birthday, Sara Beth Stacy asked her friends to bring presents for other children at her school who may not have anything for Christmas.

"I went up to my room one day and noticed how much toys I had, bed, TV and electronics and some kids don't have beds to sleep in or TVs to watch or as many toys as I do," Sara Beth  explained to Nashville's News 2.

As word spread about Sara Beth's birthday wish, more and more people decided to get involved and help with the cause.

"Every second I turned around someone was giving me money or something to help these little girls," she said.

She added, "I didn't think it was a big deal. I helped somebody I didn't think I was a hero for helping somebody else."

Sara Beth provided gifts for three families and raised $400.
