Man, 27, shot outside Springfield apartment

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -

Authorities are searching for two gunmen who shot a man outside his apartment in Springfield Wednesday night.

The shooting happened at the Westgate Apartments off Fifth Avenue West just after 7:30 p.m.

According to Smokey Barn News, responding officers found groceries strewn across the parking lot.

The victim, 27-year-old Narciso Carrera, was shot in the upper chest as he walked out of building No. 23.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The victim described the suspects as two black males dressed in black hooded and gray hooded jackets armed.

The suspects fled on foot after the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
