1 killed, 2 injured in Clarksville hit-and-run crash

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

One person was killed and two others were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Clarksville late Tuesday night.

The deadly crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Kelsey Drive.

Authorities said the drivers of a stolen 2008 Ford Explorer slammed into a 2003 Buick Regal as it was backing out of a driveway.

The driver of the Buick, 24-year-old Tyjuan Northington, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was last listed in stable condition.

Passenger Danielle Hutchinson, 19, an Austin Peay State University student, died from injuries sustained in the collision.

"They killed my baby and left her for dead. They didn't even come back to check on her," mother Lynn Hutchinson said. "I just wish that I had more time with her."

A juvenile also inside the Buick was transported to an area hospital.

Police are continuing to search for the driver of the stolen SUV and a passenger. The passenger is said to be a black woman with long straight hair.

Additional information on a suspect description was not immediately known.

Both are believed to have sustained injuries in the crash and were last seen running south on Kelsey Drive.

Hutchinson's funeral will be held on Saturday at the Neal Tarpley Funeral Home in Clarksville. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m.
