The director of human resources for the city of Clarksville was arrested last Saturday for filing a false report.
According to ClarksvilleNow.com, William Wyatt wrecked his truck McAdoo Creek Road but lied about it to investigators.
Wyatt called police to report his truck had been stolen after he said he slid on some ice and crashed into a ditch on Mobley Road.
He said he was given a ride home "from some guy in a red truck" and when he went back to the address, his truck was gone.
Wyatt's vehicle was later found by another deputy in a ditch on McAdoo Creek Road.
The truck's ignition showed no signs of tampering and witnesses told deputies the driver of the truck, who identified himself as "Will," had crashed it.
Both witnesses positively identified Wyatt as the man they had seen in the ditch.
Wyatt was charged with filing a false report and booked into the Montgomery County jail.
