Fire crews responded to two house fires in Bordeaux Monday night less than an hour apart.
The first fire was reported in the 1400 block of Snell Avenue.
A mother and her four adopted children were displaced after their home was heavily damaged.
Other children the woman had cared for over the years gathered at the home after learning of the fire.
The now grown adults were seen praying with the woman outside the fire damaged home.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
Less than a mile away, a second fire broke out in the 3300 block of Hospital Lane.
According to the fire chief, the blaze may have started after a child set a mattress on fire.
The family is staying at an area hotel.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
The fires are unrelated.
