Randy Maidens will go on trial next September for the murder of his wife, Brentwood orthodontist Dr. Rachael Maidens.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
The man charged with murdering his wife at their exclusive Governors Club home will go on trial next fall.
Randolph "Randy" Maidens appeared in court Monday where a judge set his trial date for September 29, 2014.
Maidens's wife, Rachael, an orthodontist in Brentwood, was found shot multiple times at the couple's home in April.
Maidens pleaded not guilty in June. He is out of jail on bond.
Maidens appeared in court alongside his mother and some family friends.
Dr. Rachel Maidens' mother was also in the courtroom.
She is the guardian of the couple's young daughter. The little girl was left alone in the home after Rachael was shot to death.
The judge also set a scheduling order Monday.
David Raybin, Maidens attorney, said, "As the court requires, there's a scheduling order and a lot to do so we're diligently working on the case to comply with the court order and that's exactly what we're going to do."
Maidens also faces a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of his deceased wife.
