NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Three men are in custody following an attempted robbery and short chase in Madison and north Nashville late Sunday night.

The suspects first approached a man walking down a street around 11 p.m. in Madison to ask for directions.

The victim sensed he was about to be robbed and ran, prompting the suspects to fire one shot in his direction before fleeing.

Police quickly put out a description of the vehicle, which was found two hours later around 1 a.m. Monday in north Nashville

Officers turned on their blue lights to pull the vehicle over at 11th Avenue North and Meharry Boulevard.

Two of the three suspects jumped from the car and fled.  The driver took off, but was apprehended a short time later.

K9 units responded to the scene to find the other men.  One was captured by a K9 and transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the apprehension.

The last suspect was caught by officers following a short search.

Their identities have not been released.
