Burglary suspects wanted for sexual assault of neighbor in Ashland City

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -

Police are searching for two suspects wanted for a sexually assaulting a woman Sunday evening in Ashland City.

According to the city's police chief, the men were burglarizing a home on Eisenhower Drive in the Caldwell Estates subdivision when they were interrupted by the woman who had driven to the house in a Jeep to borrow an onion.

The homeowner told the 25-year-old woman they were not home, but she could use their electronic keypad to get inside.

As she entered the house, she was attacked and tied up by the men with a phone cord and sexually assaulted.

The suspects fled in the jeep she left in the driveway.

Police said they took two TVs, a shotgun and an Xbox.

The vehicle has since been recovered in Nashville, but the men remain at large. The vehicle will be processed for evidence and any possible prints Tuesday morning.

The woman was able to call for help at a neighbor's home after the suspects fled.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. She is expected to be okay.

The investigation is ongoing.
