Vanderbilt holds off Marshall 69-67

The Vanderbilt Commodores blew a big lead but held on to beat Marshall 69-67 Thursday night in Nashville.

The ‘Dores built a double-figure first half lead and led 35-26 at the half. That lead was down to just one with one minute to play, but guard Dai-jon Parker hit a huge three-point field goal with 59 seconds to play to stretch that lead back out to four at 69-67.

Parker finished the game with seven points.

Freshman Damian Jones and forward James Siakam led the Commodores with 15 points each. Siakam had a key block in the game's final seconds.

Center Josh Henderson sustained a leg injury in the first half. Head coach Kevin Stallings said every indication is that it is a torn ACL and MCL in his knee. The injury could end Henderson's season.

Vanderbilt improves to 4-3 with the victory.
