Former jail guard indicted on 6 counts of statutory rape

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A former Rutherford County Sheriff's employee turned himself in after being indicted on six counts of aggravated statutory rape.

Drew Gammon, who worked as a jail guard, was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, where he once worked, late Thursday morning.

The 28-year-old has since been released on a $25,000 bond.  

Gammon, who is the son of Rutherford County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Virgil Gammon, was terminated from the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center in 2012.

No additional information was immediately released.
