NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 43-year-old man was injured in a shooting inside his south Nashville home Thursday morning.

Police reported four gunmen entered Son Tan Nguyen's home located in the 400 block of Tampa Drive off Paragon Mills Road around 9:30 a.m. as a delivery was being made to the residence.

After firing shots, the four gunmen fled the scene with a laptop computer and a purse.

Nguyen was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was last listed in critical condition.

Police said at the time of Thursday's shooting, Nguyen was serving a nine-year probated sentence for an attempted second-degree murder conviction relating to a 2006 stabbing.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Immediately following the shooting nearby Paragon Mills Elementary School was on lockdown as a precaution.

The lockdown was lifted just before 11 a.m., according to Metro school officials.

Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to call Metro police or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
