An elderly woman scared off two suspects who broke into her home early Thursday morning. According to police, the suspects gained access to the 86-year-old woman's home in the 1600 block of Turner Street in Old Hickory by smashing through a window."She said she run them all the way out. She chased them all the way out the house," Brian Elan, who was helping make repairs to the elderly victim's home Thursday. Police canvassed the surrounding area, but so far no arrests have been made.Contractor Brian Norton and his son with Tony's Handyman & Lawn Service were hard at work hours after the break-in, repairing patio screens and a window the intruders took down during the invasion."We're going to fix her stuff for free. That's what we do in the community, we help out senior citizens," said Norton told News 2.Neighbors are also planning to install new lights around the victim's home as well as security equipment to prevent another burglary from happening again. "She said she's been up all night since this happened. So that's why we're here to make her day easier," said Elan.The woman was uninjured.
