After highs in the 70s today, and 60s on Thursday in the rain, the colder air pushes in Thursday evening.
On Friday, we will see a cold rain with temperatures falling through the 30s, and a sleet/freezing rain mixture starting up in the northwest corner of Middle TN during the mid morning hours in places like Clarksville, Dover, Carlisle, Paris, and The Land Between the Lakes.
By late afternoon and evening near rush hour, that sleet/freezing rain mix will push into Nashville with temps falling below freezing right at sunset.
That could very well spell a slippery rush hour Friday evening.
The precip will move pretty quickly and be gone before midnight, but roads could be slick, especially from Nashville north and westward.
You can see the forecasted progression on the 4 Predictor graphics to the right.
I don't think that our east and southeast counties will see as many problems, but keep up withy the latest.
Another round of sleet and freezing rain could push in Saturday night before changing to all rain during the morning hours of Sunday as temperatures rise into the 40s.
