Coffee County man dies after colliding with semi on I-24

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A 23-year-old Coffee County man was killed early Wednesday morning when he collided with a tractor trailer on Interstate 24 in Murfreesboro.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on Interstate 24 East at mile marker 92 in Murfreesboro.

William Myers, 23, of Hillsboro, died when his Nissan Sentra collided with a tractor trailer.

Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Myers crossed into the semi's lane and went under the trailer.

The driver of the semi-truck, 35-year-old Daniel Nabra, of Indiana, was uninjured.

No charges were filed.

Both east and westbound traffic was slow while crewed cleared the scene.  The interstate reopened around 7:30 a.m.
