CLAYPOOL, VA (WJHL) -
A dispute over a parking space at a Walmart in the Tri-Cities region escalated to a stabbing on Black Friday Eve.

WVVA news says a stabbing was confirmed by Tazewell County dispatchers at the Walmart in Claypool Hill, VA.

They say it happened about 6:30 Thursday night ...just after Walmart launched the start of its Black Friday deals.

Sheriff Brian Hieatt told WVVA two men were arguing over a parking space when it escalated into a threat with a firearm.

Sheriff hieatt says 61-year-old Ronnie Sharp then used a knife to cut 35-year-old Christopher Jackson in the arm -- cutting the skin down to the bone.

Sharp was charged with malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm.

He was taken to the Southwest Regional Jail and is out on a $5,000 bond.

Jackson was treated at an area hospital and charged with disorderly conduct as well as assault and battery.

WVVA contributed to this report.
