GM factory in Spring Hill to reach agreement with UAW

SPRING HILL, Tenn. -
Car manufacturing workers in Maury and Williamson counties made an agreement with GM Spring Hill Manufacturing on Thursday.
The United Auto Workers Local 1853 and Spring Hill Manufacturing reached a tentative agreement that covers around 1,800 members.
According to a press release from UAW-GM Spring Hill Manufacturing, "This agreement reflects the benefits of collective bargaining in many areas, giving workers a voice in their workplace as well as securing a future for the members. This cooperative effort continues to make the GM Spring Hill Manufacturing plant one of the most flexible and competitive manufacturing facilities in today's competitive automotive worldwide arena."
The deal still needs to be approved by represented members which will take place on December 4.
UAW Local 1853 will not disclose the terms of the agreement until that date.
