Corrections officer arrested on charges of sexual contact with inmate
GILES COUNTY, Tenn. -
After a month-long investigation, a Giles County Corrections Officer was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having sex with a female inmate.
Michael Brown, 52, a married father of three, is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a female inmate on October 23 while transporting her between facilities.
Officials reported Brown picked the inmate up at TN Mental Health to take her to the Giles County Jail.
Along the way, Brown allegedly pulled off of Interstate 65 at exit 32 in Marshall County, parked behind a vacant building and had inappropriate sexual contact with her.
A short time after they returned to the jail, the inmate reported the incident to Giles County officers.
After an investigation with the help of the Assistant District Attorney and authorities in both counties, Brown was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual contact or penetration of an inmate by a law enforcement official.
