Man enlists cheer squad to help propose to girlfriend
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -
The cheerleading coach at Brentwood Academy got the surprise of her life earlier this month.
Taylor Thomas' fiancé, Daniel Shifflett, enlisted the help of her cheerleading squad to pop the ultimate question.
"I was sitting in my office one day, she was at practice coaching the girls and I thought, ‘Why don't I use the cheerleaders in my proposal?'" he said.
Daniel told Taylor he was just going to drop off some fliers he had promised her.
She had no idea what was really going on.
"We're walking back to our practice room and I'm like, ‘Oh, are you going to come back to me?' and he's like, ‘Yeah, sure.' And when we walked into the room, they were standing in these two nice rows," Taylor told News 2.
She continued, "They were dressed really nice, all of the girls were, and I thought, ‘We must be filming something for playoffs,' and then they started singing and I started crying,"
The couple met two years ago and is planning their wedding for this May.
