NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 19-year-old is accused of head butting a police officer during his arrest overnight Tuesday.

Witnesses called police after seeing Brandon Moyers urinate in public near the intersection of North Gallatin Pike and Anderson Lane around 11 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers said Moyers appeared intoxicated and smelled like an alcoholic beverage.

Moyers reportedly told police he was 19 years old and on his way to his grandmother's house.

While being frisked, Moyers allegedly threw his head backward into the officer, striking him in the left side of his face, causing a visible injury and damaging his eyeglasses.

Police said Moyers continually struggled, resisting arrest, so they used a Taser to take him into custody.

He is charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault of an officer, vandalism, underage drinking, public intoxication and possession of alcohol underage.

His bond was set at $20,000.

The officer was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for stitches to his head.
