Green Hills residents file lawsuit in hopes to prevent high-rise

Posted:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - There's backlash against a proposed tower in Green Hills after a neighborhood group files a lawsuit against the Metro government.

The Green Hills Neighborhood Association wants to void the city's approval of the site plan to allow Southern Land Company to build a tower at Hillsboro Pike and Richard Jones Road.

The high-rise will consist of about 300 studio, one and two bedroom units. Unit sizes will range from 500 square feet to 2,500 square feet.

The group says the final approval should come from the planning commission, not just the planning department's staff.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring or summer of 2014.

The building won't be open for business until late 2015 or early 2016.
