Columbia State Community College on Claude Yates Drive in Franklin is closed Tuesday due to minor flooding on campus. The flooding was caused by a busted water pipe.
School officials told News 2 the pipe broke sometime between 4 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday when maintenance crews discovered the damage.
The cleanup has begun but there is a lot of water that needs to be removed. Officials are unsure if they'll be able to reopen on Wednesday.
Once the water is removed, damaged items also have to be removed.
The water came from a half-inch pipe that was damaged when a piece of duct work from the air conditioning unit fell and broke the pipe.
Employees at Columbia State in Franklin were told to report to work as scheduled Tuesday but classes were cancelled.
Classes will resume on Wednesday for students.
