NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A man connected to a string of robberies in west Nashville since August is finally behind bars.

Keith Watkins, 40, is accused of robbing six separate businesses between mid-August and November 17.

The first robbery took place at Bellagio Pizza on 29th Avenue North on August 16. Watkins allegedly stole around $300 in cash after holding the employees at gunpoint with his face covered by a rag.

The second and third robberies happened on August 25.  Watkins reportedly stole cash from the Daily's Shell station at 4601 Alabama Avenue and then robbed the Delta Express on 51st Avenue North where he got away with $100 and a carton of cigarettes.

The next two robberies occurred last week, on November 14.   Watkins is accused of robbing both a Delta Express on Charlotte Avenue and a Subway on Old Hickory Boulevard in Bellevue.

The last robbery took place on November 17 at the Shell Station located on Harding Place. Watkins reportedly showed a gun to the clerk and stated, "Give me everything."  He fled with cash and two cartons of cigarettes.

Witnesses reported Watkins was armed during each robbery.

Watkins was arrested Monday night at the Cumberland Pointe Apartments off Buena Vista Pike while officers were investigating an unrelated complaint.

Detectives told News 2 they were surprised to find Watkins there.

He was arrested without incident.

Previous reports that he was arrested for failing to use a blinker in east Nashville turned out to be incorrect.

Watkins was booked into the Metro jail on six counts of aggravated robbery and remains a suspect in additional open cases.

Police said he has since confessed to at least two of the armed robberies. He is being held on a $450,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
