NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A monument honoring legendary country artist George Jones will be unveiled Monday.

MusicRow.com reported the unveiling will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Berry Hill on November 18.

Jones died in April at the age of 81 in a Nashville hospital after a year of ill health.

The monument, announced in June by his late wife, Nancy, will honor his life and contribution to country music.

At the time it was announced, a plaque was placed at the Woodlawn Cemetery with a rendering of its expected design.

The plague read, "This is a rendering of the monument that is being prepared and will be placed in the coming weeks. Thank you for all your love and support shown to George and to me. God bless, Nancy."

The unveiling is open to the public and will feature a special announcement from Nancy.

It will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 660 Thompson Lane in Nashville.
