Titans-Colts game to cause traffic tie-ups downtown

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Downtown Nashville will be extremely busy traffic wise Thursday afternoon and evening as football fans head to LP Field for the Titans game against the Colts.

Police officers will begin staffing key intersections at 3:30 p.m. to assist with traffic flow as commuters who work downtown also begin to leave the area.

The Woodland Street Bridge will close to regular traffic at 4:30 p.m., making it available solely to pedestrians and shuttle buses.

Fans who normally park in state employee lots will not have access to those spaces Thursday until 5 p.m., when they are vacated by state workers.

Additional downtown-area parking information can be found at ParkItDowntown.com

InShuttle will provide park and ride bus service for this game from the state parking lots at 4th Avenue North and Harrison Street and from 10th Circle North downtown beginning at 6 p.m.

Shuttle service will also be available from Greer Stadium's parking lots south of the city beginning at 6 p.m.

Until the fourth quarter of the game, Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge will be open to both directions of traffic.

At that time, however, all lanes of the bridge will be open to westbound traffic only to alleviate congestion around LP Field after the game.

Stadium parking lots will open at 3 p.m., following by the gates at LP Field at 5 p.m.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:29 p.m.
