Police are searched for two suspects who reportedly stole a man's car after he left the ignition on to warm it up Thursday morning.
The man called authorities after he returned to his driveway in the Old Hickory area to find his car missing around 5:15 a.m.
Officers were able to respond quickly, witnessing the car on Old Hickory Boulevard where it becomes Robinson Road.
Once police turned on their blue lights, the suspects struck a chained link fence, got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Authorities cordoned off the area, set up a perimeter, and called for K9 units to run a track on the suspects.
The track was unsuccessful, but authorities continued to search the area.
They believe one of the suspects could have been dropped off at a nearby house.
Further details were not immediately released.
