Police seek identity of robber armed with butcher knife

Metro police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who robbed a local Mapco armed with a butcher knife.

The suspect got away with cash from the clerk at the gas station located at 3043 Nolensville Pike on October 27.

Police say he entered the store around 4:35 a.m., went to the restroom and left, only to return 10 minutes later armed with a large butcher knife.

The suspect then demanded cash, took the money and fled on foot.

He is described as a Hispanic male who is approximately five feet, nine inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect from surveillance photos is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or send a tip via text to 274637 with the keyword "CRIME."

Tipsters can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
