Woman killed in Ashland City house fire

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -

A house fire turned fatal for a woman in Ashland city Saturday morning.

According to the Ashland City Times, Dorothy Ann Williams, 69, died from the injuries she sustained in the house fire located in the 1000 block of Hill Road.

When firefighters arrived just after 2:30 a.m., the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Officials said crews tried to get inside the home, but couldn't due to the intensity of the flames.

Williams' son, David Munsil, 48, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with second and third degree burns.  He has since been treated and released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
