Interstate 40 West in downtown Nashville will be closed this weekend while crews repair the bridge over Charlotte Avenue.
The interstate will close Friday at 8 p.m. and not reopen until Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Charlotte Avenue under I-40 will also be closed as well as the westbound I-40 entrance ramps at Broadway Avenue and Church Street.
Drivers will able to enter I-40 West at Charlotte Avenue.
The project, estimated to cost $399,060, will replace a 200 foot long section of the concrete bridge deck.
All of the concrete will be removed and replaced by contract crews with Jamison Construction, LLC.
They will mill the roadway, jackhammer and remove the old concrete before installing metal decking, pouring concrete and striping the roadway.Motorists can read the full release and view maps of detour routes at News.TN.gov.
