GATLINBURG, Tenn. -
A Gatlinburg father was arrested over the weekend for burning his four-week old daughter's face with hot water.
An arrest report states Daniel Shea, 21, was charged with aggravated child abuse.
Shea said the child would not stop crying on Saturday while he was attempting to clean her after she spit up. He said he then dipped a bib into hot water and squeezed it, causing drips to fall on the baby's face.
The report says the hot water caused three to four blisters on the child's face and there were also burn marks on her neck.
The baby was given to a babysitter Sunday, who called police.
