Police say father, son arrested for road rage were drunk
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Murfreesboro police arrested a father and his 20-year-old son Monday night after officers said they were drunk when they fought with another motorist during a road rage incident on South Church Street.
According to the incident report, the victim told investigators a driver later identified as Wade Flannery threw bottles at his car, causing his windshield to crack.
Later, after the two vehicles stopped, the victim said Flannery got out of his car, hit him four times and then spit in his face.
Responding officers reported Flannery, 48, was unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. He also failed field sobriety tests.
His son, Daxton Flannery, was a passenger in the vehicle and he too was drunk, according to the report.
While speaking with officers, the younger Flannery got very aggressive and began yelling obscenities. The aggressive behavior continued during booking.
Daxton Flannery is charged with underage consumption, disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on $6,750 bond.
His dad is charged with DUI and furnishing alcohol to a minor. He was booked on $4,500 bond.
