Peyton Manning sets 8 game passing record

Despite two sprained ankles and four turn overs, Peyton Manning ended Sunday with a win and a mark in the record books.

Manning threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns to help the Broncos defeat the Redskins 45-21. Meanwhile, Manning's performance brought his season total to 2,919 yards, the most through eight games in NFL history. His 29 touchdowns this season has him on track to break Tom Brady's single season mark of 50.

Despite Manning's new passing record, Sunday was not one of the quarterback's best performances. He fished the day with three interceptions and a lost fumble. Even so, the Broncos were able to overcome a 21-7 deficit by scoring 38 unanswered points against Washington.

The Broncos improve to 7-1 and are one game behind the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.
