Chattanooga bank employee injured during armed robbery


A Chattanooga bank employee sustained injuries during an armed robbery late Wednesday morning.

The Times Free Press reported the suspect entered the First Tennessee Branch located in the 7800 block of East Brainerd Road just after 10 a.m.

The newspaper reported the gunman brandished a gun before firing two shots at the ceiling.

The bank employee suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a waiting white Kia. It remains unclear how much cash the man got away with.

The robbery remains under investigation.
