LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - The son of former Campbell County Sheriff Rose Kitts was arrested Monday for allegedly selling and delivering drugs.
Billy Jack "Cotton" Kitts, 68, was pursued and taken into custody at his home near LaFollette after being indicted by a grand jury for the sale and delivery of Schedule II narcotics. An undercover investigation showed he delivered and sold narcotics.
Agents with the 8th Judicial Drug Task Force and investigators from the Campbell County Sheriff's Office led an undercover sting that began a few months ago. Investigators say they discovered Kitts was illegally selling morphine.
Rose Kitts was sheriff of Campbell County from 1952 to 1954, 1958 to 1960, and 1968 to 1974.
