Backup goaltender Carter Hutton made 38 saves for Nashville Sunday night in a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
It was just his second career start and first NHL win.
After a scoreless first period, Nashville broke the game open with three goals in the second. Eric Nystrom scored Nashville's first short-handed goal of the season 20 seconds into the period.
Patric Hornqvist followed with his team-leading third goal of the season to pad the lead for Nashville.
Matt Cullen scored the third goal of the period to give the Predators the 3-0 lead.
Hutton allowed the lone Winnipeg goal of the game in the third period from Evander Kane.
The win extended Nashville's point streak to five games. They finish a three game road trip in Minnesota Tuesday night .
